Who's the most overpaid player?

Posted at 4:54 PM on July 28, 2005 by Ben Tesch (3 Comments)

Jeff Merron thinks its Bernie Williams ($12.3m), Cristian Guzman ($4.2m), Phil Nevin ($9.4m), Sidney Ponson ($8.5m, and who by coincidence was almost traded for Phil Nevin until Nevin nixed the deal), Kirk Rueter ($6.9m), Adrian Beltre ($11.4m), Mike Piazza ($16.0m), Kevin Brown ($15.7m), Bret Boone ($9.0m), and Sammy Sosa ($17.8m). Who do you think is the most overpaid player in the majors? What about just on the Twins?

(I'm not sure how much Bret Boone qualifies in the Twins category, since I still don't quite know what all happened and who is paying what portion of his salary.)

as far as the home team goes, i hate to pick on the pitchers, but joe mays and his $7.5 million and radke and his $9 million have to be candidates. maybe part of the problem with the twins offense is that they aren't overpaying anyone...........
