The whole "where will the Expos end up?" saga went on for so long that I barely noticed when they finally packed up and moved to Washington. Even when they started playing as the Nationals, I figured some other club was having one of those nights where they wear throwback uniforms to see who had the worst taste in the 70s. Apparently the move has been good for the Nats, though, since they're currently leading the NL East, despite continuing to use Christian Guzman as their starting shortstop. Yet amidst the deal-making and the moving and the new uniforms and the general hullaballoo, it never occurred to me that without a team in Montreal, we are left with no one announcing baseball games in French. I don't even speak French, but for some reason that makes me kind of sad.
