Judy Griesedieck, a freelance photojournalist based in the Twin Cities, was a staff photographer for the Star Tribune from 1998-2005. She has also worked on the staff of the San Jose Mercury News and The Hartford Courant.

During her career she has covered the Calgary Olympics, the Democratic National Convention, several presidential campaigns, and many special projects including a photo documentary on problems in California's nursing home industry and a four-year multimedia project following a medical school class at the University of Minnesota.

She has participated in numerous book projects, including "A Day in the Life of China," "A Day in the Life of Italy," "A Circle of Life," "The Power to Heal," "Baseball In America," "24 Hours in Cyberspace," "The History of Mothers and Daughters" and "America At Home."
