Morris Goodwin is senior vice president and CFO for American Public Media Group. In his role, he oversees the financial operations for all entities within the family of companies that make up American Public Media Group - Minnesota Public Radio, American Public Media, Classical South Florida and Southern California Public Radio. He leads all finance areas including management reporting and regulatory external reporting, budgeting and forecasting, all daily accounting functions and financing/investing activities.
Goodwin's ties to APMG run deep, as a longtime member and former trustee of Minnesota Public Radio, a subsidiary of APMG.
With more than 30 years of financial experience in investment management, e-commerce, commercial and investment banking, and non-profit organizations, Goodwin most recently served as vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer for the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation in St. Paul, Minn. Previously, he held executive and financial leadership positions at Chase Manhattan Bank, the City & County of San Francisco, Morgan Stanley, American Express Financial Advisors (and IDS Bank & Trust), Deluxe Corporation, Vivius and The Hogan Company.
Goodwin is the chairman of the board for the Search Institute and serves on the boards of Twin Cities Rise, Charities Review Council and African American Leadership Forum. He also is a member of the University of Minnesota Policy Advisory Committee and co-leader of the Diaconate Commission, Episcopal Church of Minnesota. He holds an M.B.A. in finance and public policy from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in political economy from Williams College.
