In their review of the plans for the MPR building expansion, the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office (MnSHPO), and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) found that the building, as built with an electronic newsbanner on its northwest corner, had an adverse affect on the viewshed from several historic properties in the neighborhood, including Central Presbyterian Church. As part of our efforts to mitigate this adverse affect, MPR committed to development of the space between the Church and the MPR building as a transitional pocket park. MPR also committed to providing the public with the opportunity to comment on the development of this park. ![]() |
